Nice ruby tones. Very slight purple tinge. average blackberries. Licorice. No oak or tanins. A little leather. Fresh, not dusty or moldy. Juicy blackberries & dark cherries, a little vanilla, so maybe there was oak. Quite round. long finish. For a moment after you swallow, there is a bitter taste, which rounds out into a juicy smooth finish. I like this wine much better at home than I remember it at Jacques. I've moved it from a 4 to at least a 5. Medium to strong dark berries with a long round finish.
