Dark garnet in color. Austere in both the mouth and nose. Dark sour berries with distinct barnyard notes, especially upon first opening. Herbal and earthy. Harsh tannins and strong acids. Long finish dominated by tart black berries. This wine is still rough around the edges and hard to approach. I'm not sure the fruit will hold up until the tannins have softened and matured.
Deep cloudy red. The first impression on the nose is of pepper and spice, with warm richly ripened dark fruits following. Cedar. The palate is dominated by acid, with coarse tanins. The fruit is not overly strong but smooth. Finish is unbalanced, with acid dominating. Perhaps a little passed its time.
Sweet, ripe, and medium-bodied, it displays sumptuous layers of black cherry and currant fruit with subtle oak in the background. Fleshy, open-knit, and expansive, it will provide joyous drinking over its first 4-6 years of life.
