The nose smells fine. Cedar, tar, dusty black fruit. In the mouth tangy rich smoked black current. Hint of cream soda. Soft acid notes, but still quite good tannins - fine and round. Long, fruit driven finish. Pretty amazing that this 375ml bottle has held out 17 years.
A very old lady, past her prime. This one is holding up better than the one I tried with Dio on the day of Eurobike 2009, but there is still a hint of oxidation. Behind that there are nice herbs and spice with a little berry. Tannins and acid have faded away.
