The weather turned cool again so I siezed my chance and opened another nice aged claret. Already there is a distince brown hue to this wine, and also quite bright. First impressions on the nose are of dry vegetables and leaves. Goosberries. Maybe a little musty, but not unpleasant. Austere in the mouth, with good tart acids and fine tannins. Fruits are somewhat subdued - what is there is roasted and jammy. Nice long finish with enough complexity to keep it interesting.
