Medium to clear golden red. Unfamiliar nose. Animal sweat, sweet spices & butter. The palate is also unfamiliar. There is a toasted woody note with red currants and spicy. Pretty weak acid, but fairly good tannins. Not really very balanced. Very hard to rate due to the unusual grape varietels.

Sourced from non-irrigated vineyards from mountain villages in Peza, the grapes were hand-picked into small containers and transported to the winery. The two varieties were vinified together then aged for one year in French and American oak barrels in cool underground cellars. Spice, dried fruit and leather combine with tobacco and vanilla on the nose. Medium to full-bodied with chunky tannins and a long finish.

Dusty brick red in colour. Nose is disappointing with some raspberry touches. The palate can only be described as rustic with hefty tannins following the fresh, if simple, soft bramble flavours. A reasonably good length though. Better with food but still 'rustic' with an inky edge to the finish.
