Light clear ruby red. Quite closed. Just ripe plum with a little spice. I also get mild cheese. Much better in the mouth. Stong tannins and acid are offset with the ripe plum but the balance isn't quite there. Finish is only medium in length with acid dominating. I like the herbal tones to this wine. On day 2 there is better balance as the tannins have softened. Still a little simplistic though.
