Thick inky red color. Yeasty vegetables (maggi) & meat - lamb. Quite austere in the mouth with strong acids and slightly coarse tannins. Subdued, sour toasted fruit with white pepper and spice. Very long old world finish. You know, I quite like it. Very atypical for an Aussie shiraz. If the fruit had been just a little stronger it would have been great.
Sourced from premium McLaren Vale vineyards and crafted using traditional winemaking methods includíng basket pressing and extended maturation in American and French oak barriques, this wine is rich and refined. Ripe plum, cherry and blueberry flavours, savoury tannins, layers of dark chocolate characters and hints of vanilla are combined to create a wine that will age gracefully for many years.
