Inky dark red. Very rich dark superripe aromas of blackberry and mulberry. Cedar box, pepper and spice. The palate is full of rich dark blackberries, blueberries and smoky spices. Smooth and balanced, warm and hot. Great length.
($25) Vivid ruby. Suave on the nose, with sexy oak-spiced raspberry and blackberry aromas complicated by dried violet and black tea. Youthfully firm but packed with sweet red and dark berry flavors framed by slightly dry tannins. Is this simply youthful? Sweetness builds on the long, spicy finish, which leaves a slightly bitter cherry impression behind. I'd check back on this in another year or two.
Soft, rich and elegant, this is a medium bodied wine exhibiting lifted aromas of blueberries, blackberries and dark plums overlain with anise and smoky oak. Excellent depth on the palate is balanced with good acidity and fine, long tannins. This wine will benifit from 4 to 6 years cellaring.
