A bit of poop on the nose, then blackberries. Fairly hot. In the mouth you also get a vegetive touch, maybe spinach. It tastes more medium bodied than the alcohol content would suggest, but nonetheless the fruit is well ripe and strong. Long finish with fruit dominating. Quite a nice S V but it lacks character and complexity.
Tesco had this wine at half price a few weeks back, and I bought half a dozen. It’s a great wine from South Australia - big and bold. As the label says: Dark, ripe and intense with rich plum, black cherry aromas…displays flavours of plum, chocolate, cassis. I can highly recommend it.
