Dark cloudy garnet. As this wine airs and opens I am met with aromas of cassis, sherbet and something citrusy. Smooth and easy going flavours of roasted tangy red berries. Acid and tannins were mild to begin with but have since strenghtened to create a reasonable balance. This is a fruit centric wine with a nice puckery touch.

One of my personal favourites with a concentrated ruby colour, a powerful bouquet of blackberries and a hint of freshness. The taste is subtle, structured around thick tannins with notes of juicy cherries, leather and liquorice. Perfect with almost any main course, it will particularly compliment grilled meat. I serve it at barbeques. This is also wonderful for making sauces to go with red meat or game. Reduce very slowly. Decant for at least 1 hour at room temperature.

Michel is installed on one of the most splendid parcels of the Faugères region, in the south of France. The grapes then spend much time in the ‘cuves’ in order to recover the tannins, the colour and the complex aromas of a great wine. Barrels add more complexity to the Syrah and Mourvèdre grape varieties.
