This is a much better cork, clean and solid. Savoury flavours of burnt dark cherry and bacon. Sour fruit. Too sour, this seems past its prime.

Seems all of these have very poor corks. This one broke again on opening. A little dusty and flat on the nose initially, opening up after 30 minutes. The are dark cherries, a herbal note from basil and boiled cabbage. Good rustic tannins and acids round this one out. The finish is dominated by tannins with no fruit. Next time you open one, decant it, or leave it at least an hour.

Once again problems with the cork, it breaking whilst removing and with thick sediment on the base. Aromas of dusty dark cherry. This bottle has stronger acids than the last. Full bodied with a provincial raw feel to it. The fruit really is fading, a sign of the 12 years this wine has been waiting for me. Still very nice on the nose though.

The appearance of this wine is dark cloudy red brown, with tiny cork fragments floating about. Aromas of rich cherries, juicy, with sweet spices. On the palate you notice toasted ripe fruit, not too fruity or sweet, with strong medium bodied tanins and mild acids. Medium bodied, so it's nice just to drink with a little cheese and Baguette. Really nice and round. Complex lengthy finish. Such a pity it was Ehrlich's last bottle.
