Deep red, inky toward the centre. Mike - sawdust, sand. Yeasty. Smoother. Good balance, nice ripe but not too ripe dark berries. Super tangy toasted fruit bomb. Sulfate detectable. Long and tanin toned. Great aging potential in my mind. Perhaps overkill again. Powerfull and pushy. For the right occaision excellent. I can taste more Grenache than i could in the "Custodian".

A fruit-driven style Grenache which derives its sensual deep concentration from 80 year-old vines. It is literally packed with ripe, spicy fruit flavours; lots of black cherries, blackberries, and mocha-like nuances to the fore. While the wine was aged for 12 months in seasoned hogsheads, the overall mouth feel is soft and rounded, and not showing any harsh oak character or flavours. Tremulous dried black and red fruit concentration here, with gamey, roasted meat elements adding wonderful base dimensions. It's rich and generous with ripe, chocolatey tannins and clove and anise spice elements that linger on the finish.
