Medium red/brown, slightly cloudy. Nice complex aromas of leather, strawberry & mud. Ripe to overripe dark warm fruit, balistic tanins and puckery acid. Long. Dominated by the tanin with rich fruit in the background. Quite a nice wine. Probably overpriced for my tastes, although good value for a Piedmonte wine.
A simple but drinkable Barbaresco that I have tasted and enjoyed a few times in the past. Lighter rub. Nothing to write home about, neither good nor bad. A bit too acidic, but apart from that quite drinkable. Probably too young at any rate.Medium-short finish that is a touch sour.Light bodied wine with reasonable winyness, no great concentration and a bit too acidic for balance. 01.09.2002
