Medium to dark red. Fresh spicy berries with tobacco & licorice. Tangy dark toasted berries. Ripe or underripe,. Very long, with fruits fading against strong acids at the end. Not a front bomb, but good tannins & acid. Probably a bit past its prime.

A prolific Gold Medal winner: Fruit for this wine was sourced from 22 year old vines on the LK Vineyard south of the Clare township, with additional material from the Tullymore and Kirribilly Estate vineyards near Clare, and Bass Hill near Auburn. The third release of the Clare Valley Shiraz has maintained consistency of style, within the constraints of vintage conditions. The 2003 vintage was one of the best ever seen in Clare, and this Shiraz shows the benefits of such a season.
