Rich deep red with a brown rim. Spicy licorice aromas with up front overripe stewed blackberries. Smoky. Round and powerful dark cooked berries, currants. Earthy & herbal with rustic tannins. Long bitter and tanic ending, with round persistent fruitiness. The flavours devop on the palate over a number of seconds. This is a promising wine, very up front and fruity but with sufficient tannin to allow a little more aging. The fruit is quite ripe, even overripe, so it wont give a whole lot more.
Poised, minerality to nutty fruit, chalky restraint to softening tannins. More elegant than smoldering. A deep red colour. Enormous amount of red and black berry flavours, complimented with balanced wood flavours, forming a well structured and balanced wine. A wine that will mature for 5-7 years.
