Medium red purple with a plastic cork. Fresh fruitiness, licorice. It's hard to identify the berry type. Spicy. Nice, expectable strong fruits. Very low on tanin. Light to medium finish with no great tanins. It's nice but too light, and there is too much oak. No complexity, tanins. Too be honest, I would pay one to two Euros more for a better Aussie Shiraz.

The eminently drinkable Penfolds style can be detected in the ripe berry and plum fruit, complemented with subtle oak flavours of cinnamon spice. Winemaker John Duval has added Ruby Cabernet and Grenache to the Cabernet/Shiraz blend which adds suppleness of texture. Excellent on its own or with picnic dishes such as pizza, quiche, sausage rolls, cold meats, terrines or pâtés.
