Medium to Dark red. Rich and ripe dark and fruity. Toasted ripe fruits with quite a decent amount of acidity and tannin. Medium length to the fruits. Great value once again for a Fitou. You can taste the hot summer of 2003, but nonetheless the winemaker has managed a surprisingly good balance.

mis en Bouteille a la Propriete
In the heart of the Cathare region, an arid windswept place, where the vine seems to be climbing the slopes in an attack on the rocky garrigue, Château Aguilar keeps watch over the village of Tuchan. The vineyards of Tuchan, a patchwork of small parcels of old carignan vines, grenache and syrah, is located right in the middle of the Fitou appellation, at the foot of Mont Tauch. It is surrounded by small hills of limestone and slate where thyme, rosemary, gorse, heath, box and oaks grow. It is this unique terroir that gives such flavours to the exceptional wines of Mont Tauch. Established in 1913, the Cave des Producteurs de Mont Tauch, mainly produces wines from such prestigious appellations as Fitou, Muscat de Rivesaltes, Rivesaltes and Corbières in red, white and rosé, sufficient great wines to make them the most renowned producer in the region.

Food match rabbit chasseur, young guinea fowl with armagnac, pan fried goose, beef ribs, tournedos with périgueux sauce, stuffed shoulder of mutton and lamb stew with thyme
